Cool Blog of the Day… Freedom Love Fest

Have you joined my incredibly non-annoying, once-in-a-while email newsletter?

The problem with the arts nowadays, is that for most events, you need a sizable budget to enjoy them. As a product of NYC, I was privy to many, many free and low-cost events – concerts in the park, random performances at some even more random Church in Harlem… Wonderful things for a young boy to be exposed.

Too many people know NY arts as The Met, Lincoln Center, The Symphony, and (shudder) Radio City Music Hall.

C. Nana-Oye Addo-Yobo, former events director for the Apollo Theater, has created a blog featuring all the cool/low-cost arts events in the city. Located at, it’s quickly become one of my must visits.

Spread the message far and wide, children. The arts don’t have to be expensive.

Happy Monday!
